Millionaire Idea for Christmas

A good conscience is a continual Christmas - Benjamin Franklin

Christmas is here and our present to you is one millionaire idea for Christmas.

The idea is pretty simple, well known and commonly used in this holliday season, but most of the time people don't see the beauty of it.

First of all, gather items you don't want from your house, but that would look great in a christmas basket. Stuff like wine, chocolates, candies, etc.

Next, get some sheets of paper and make 100 tickets and give each one a distinct number.

Sell each ticket to friends, familly and fools for $1 and say that the winning ticket will win the christmas basket.

Now, let's dissecate this idea to see where's the real beauty of it. There are two factors that make this idea a millionaire idea.

1st - Prize and Price

If you ask $1 for a Christmas Basket ticket, people will think "Well, it's just a $1" and they WILL give you, without even caring for the prize. Who wants a Christmas Basket anyway?

Don't belive it? When was the last time you bought a ticket like this from a child wanting to go to a school trip or something?
Did you remember what was the prize? But you gave the money anyway...

Going deeper in the idea, it's not just "Well, it's just a $1" to whoever buys you a ticket. You must think what is the reason to someone give you a dollar: what's your meaning. And that's what matters.

So imagine you are organizing some school trip and all your class adopted this simple business plan, the meaning to your clients to give you a dollar maybe one of those:

1) They may think "it's great for our children to grow in a happy place" or "doing school trips is great, i enjoyed a lot when i was the same age", or any other positive thought. The result is people want to contribute to something they think is good.

2) They will know you or establish right away a positive connection with you: your are a trully nice person. So the purpose of their contribution is solely to you get happy. This is, their meaning is to you get happier.

Sure that are a lot of other reasons but those 2 can let you reasoning about the meaning of your business. So if you want to be successful and you believe Guy Kawasaki's words: make meaning. Share your thoughts about the meaning of an idea like this simple one.

2nd - Return on Investment (ROI).

If you sell 100 tickets, you have won $100 and you haven't spent nothing!

You have created $100 out of nothing, just with your power of will!

Even if you want to buy some of those paper ticket blocks, allready numbered, you will have a return on investment (ROI) of about 33 times of what you have invested.

What was the last investment that you made that had a ROI like that?

Try it in these holliday season and let us know how it went.

Myths about the 1 Dollar Millionaire project

We must not be hampered by yesterday's myths in concentrating on today's needs - Harold Geneen

Greetings!

Ok, it has passed a month since the 1 dollar millionaire project began and we have received some critics.

The intent of this post is to end with two myths about this project, that we have perceived from some of those critics.

Myth #1 - The purpose of this project is solelly to ask for my money.

This could not be more far from the truth. The purpose of this project is as said in the first post, to prove it is possible to transform $1 in one million dollars with the power of will that every human being can possess. The tools to do that will be investments, gambling and entrepreneurship, with lots of imagination and creativity. Donations are just to help these, they are not the main tool.

Myth #2 - I will become a millionaire if I donate 1 dollar to you

Some people though that by giving us one dollar, they would receive a million dollars, like if this project was like an investment fund.
That however, is not true again.
The name 1 dollar millionaire comes from the initial investment that the authors have spent to start the project. People who contribute to the project are contributing for us to develop and implement new ideas.

Myth #3 - Donations can only be $1

We do not impose any limit on donations, we just want people to donate whatever they want and/or think this project is worth it.
If you do not want to donate, fine.
If you want to donate less than $1 it is also fine, although probably paypal will eat this donation.
If you want to donate more than $1 even better :)

So we hope we have cleared your doubts. We still are looking from feedback from you, so please feel free to send us an e-mail to 1dollarmillionaire [a t] gmail.com, or leave a comment on this blog. We will appreciate it.

Results

Duty is ours, results are God's - John Quincy Adams

First of all, let us say we are sorry for the delayed notice.

From what we said last post, we should already have announced the results of the three F's approach. However, time has running low these days.

Anyhow, we have been trying out the three F's approach and we can say that it works!

Without spending our initial dollar investment, we have been able to gather $16. How did we do it?

Simple, we followed two simple steps:

1) We registered a PayPal account to support on-line donations.

2) We told our friends and family about our project and asked them $1. We said that we had some ideas to become millionaires but we would need some initial funds.

We would like to thank everyone who support us, special those who contributed with PayPal donations.

Our initial aim was to reach $30, but $16 in three weeks is ok for starting. The main reason for failling our initial goal is because we haven't yet made a mass campaign to advertise our project. We only have told close friends and even then we have been trying different approaches to do it, so some have failed. Anyway we are optimistics about the result and we will massify the campaign.

And so, that was the first step in the path to transform $1 in $1000000. We have already took it, what are you waiting for?
